Each choker is handcrafted by women artisans from the Peruvian Amazon, guardians of ancestral knowledge passed down through generations.
The process begins with the seasonal gathering of seeds from the Amazon rainforest. After harvest, the seeds are carefully cleaned, sun-dried, and stored until they are ready to be transformed.
They are then dyed using natural pigments derived from Amazonian plants. Achieving each shade requires experience, patience, and a deep understanding of local materials.
Once prepared, every seed is individually perforated using precision tools. This delicate process must be carried out at the exact point of each seed to prevent cracking, requiring meticulous craftsmanship performed entirely by hand.
The seeds are then woven one by one using traditional artisan techniques and high-strength waxed thread, gradually forming the final structure of the choker.
Behind every piece is a network of more than forty women artisans working from family workshops within their Amazonian communities. The most experienced members continuously pass their knowledge on to younger generations, helping preserve traditional techniques that remain an essential part of their cultural heritage.
