Embracing Slow Fashion in Inverna
At Inverna, we embrace the slow fashion approach with deep conviction and for several fundamental reasons:
1. Deliberate production cycles
In contrast to the current âfast fashionâ that seeks to quickly produce large quantities of garments, at Inverna we enjoy and celebrate our long manufacturing processes.
Each item goes through a series of meticulous stages, from the acquisition of the leather to the artisanal process of tanning, soaking, dyeing, sun drying and subsequent manufacturing.
This process, although longer, allows us to create unique and carefully crafted items.
2. Focus on quality and durability
We choose to deviate from the norm that favors mass production at low costs to prioritize the quality and durability of our garments.
At Inverna, we work with alpaca fiber for its renowned quality, resistance and versatility. This fiber is naturally hypoallergenic and stands out as one of the finest in the world, surpassing materials such as cashmere and sheep's wool.
The soft touch characteristic of alpaca fiber creates garments that are exceptionally comfortable all year round, without causing a feeling of suffocation on warm days and offering warmth on cold days.
Additionally, alpaca fiber has a lower tendency to felt compared to wool and other animal fibers, thus ensuring the longevity and resistance of our garments. At Inverna, we embrace this unique fiber to make items that not only stand out for their elegance, but are also designed to last over time.
3. Timeless designs
Our designs go beyond momentary fashion trends. At Inverna, we create timeless garments that transcend ephemeral fashions.
This approach contributes to reducing the obsolescence of clothing items; That is to say, the durability of our creations translates into less need for replacement, thus contributing to a lower environmental impact.
4. Vindication of craftsmanship
We fuse rich artisan tradition with contemporary designs, going beyond traditional colors to explore more vibrant and eye-catching palettes. This modernization of craftsmanship not only preserves an ancient practice, passed down from generation to generation, but also infuses vitality and originality into each creation.
Throughout our journey, we have collaborated closely with communities in various regions, such as Puno - Isla AmantanĂ, Juliaca, Cusco - Sicuani, Canchis, Lima - Cieneguilla, Huaycan.
In each community, we have received valuable ancestral knowledge about leather treatment, which has allowed us to perfect ourselves over time.
5. Ethical working conditions
At Inverna, we maintain ethical and fair working conditions for our artisans. We are proud to have a team that has endured over time, growing alongside the brand since its inception.
6. Promotion of conscious consumption
We encourage our consumers to reflect on the origin and durability of the products they purchase.
Our philosophy encourages conscious consumption, allowing customers to make informed and sustainable decisions in their shopping experience.
